Onades at Casa Mediterráneo

On 23 January 2026, Casa Mediterráneo in Alicante hosted a private screening of Onades. An intimate gathering to share the film with collaborators and those who have supported the project from the very beginning.

Andoni Martínez talks about Onades on Onda Cero

On Más de uno Marina Baixa, Andoni Martínez discusses the origins of Onades and his return to La Vila to tell an intimate story rooted in memory, desire and the Mediterranean.

We returned to La Vila with a camera, an independent crew and a desire to tell an intimate story.

From that homecoming came Onades, a short film about the places we leave behind and the feelings that never left us.

Onades is written and directed by Andoni Martínez, a London-based filmmaker born in La Vila Joiosa, Spain.

After working on international film and television projects, he returns to his hometown with his first fiction short as a director: a story in which memory, desire and the Mediterranean landscape intertwine.

Filmed in La Vila with an independent crew, the film brings together the everyday and the fantastical. It grew out of a desire to reconnect with who we once were and with everything that remains part of us, even after we leave.
